Terms
Terms of Service.
Last updated: April 22, 2026
These terms apply when you use the Jubal website at askjubal.com, the Jubal desktop app, or anything else we provide under the name "Jubal." By using any of it, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
"Jubal," "we," and "us" mean do.dev. "You" means the person or organization using Jubal.
The service
Jubal is a desktop agent that works on folders of documents on your machine. The website describes the product, accepts beta-access requests, and distributes the app.
Beta status. Jubal is in private beta. That means features may change, break, or disappear without notice. We do not promise any uptime, performance, or service level during the beta. Use of Jubal during this period is at your own risk.
Your account and access
Access to the beta is invitation-based. We review each request and may approve or decline at our discretion. If you receive access and later violate these terms, or use Jubal in a way that harms others or us, we may suspend or terminate your access.
You're responsible for keeping your device and credentials secure. Don't share your access with people you haven't told us about.
Your files and content
Your documents stay on your disk. We do not claim any ownership of them, and we do not upload them to a vector store or index. When you ask Jubal a question, the app decides which passages to send to your configured AI provider to answer it; you can see which ones. See the Privacy Policy for details.
You're responsible for making sure you have the right to process the documents you point Jubal at, and for complying with any privacy, confidentiality, or licensing obligations that apply to them.
Acceptable use
Don't use Jubal to:
- Break the law or help someone else break it
- Process information you aren't authorized to process
- Reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the source code, other than where permitted by law
- Probe, interfere with, or disrupt our infrastructure or the infrastructure of our sub-processors
- Build a competing product by scraping or measuring the service
- Share access credentials or distribute the desktop app outside of normal installation
Third-party AI providers
Jubal routes requests to AI model providers (for example, Anthropic, OpenAI, Google). Your use of those providers through Jubal is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies, in addition to ours.
Fees and billing
Pricing and billing details shown on the website (such as the $20 monthly base and pay-as-you-go for additional usage) are current but not final until you're actively enrolled in a paid plan. We may adjust pricing and what's included while Jubal is in beta and will tell you before any change affects you.
Paid accounts are billed in advance. You can cancel anytime; you won't be charged for the next period after you cancel, but charges already incurred are non-refundable unless required by law.
Intellectual property
We own the Jubal software, website, name, and logo. These terms give you a limited, revocable, non-transferable license to use the app and the website for their intended purpose. We reserve everything we haven't explicitly given you.
Feedback
If you send us feedback, ideas, or bug reports, we may use them without obligation to you. We won't publicly attribute feedback to you without your permission.
Warranty and disclaimers
Jubal is provided "as is" and "as available", with no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. AI-generated answers may be inaccurate, incomplete, or otherwise unsuitable for your use — you are responsible for reviewing anything you rely on.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to Jubal is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data, even if we've been advised of the possibility. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations; in those places, they apply only to the extent permitted.
Indemnification
You agree to defend and indemnify us against any claim brought by a third party arising from your use of Jubal in violation of these terms or of applicable law.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top will always reflect the latest version. Material changes will be announced separately. If you keep using Jubal after a change takes effect, you've accepted the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state where do.dev is incorporated, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be brought in the courts of that state (or in small-claims court where available).
